In the coming days, the Prime Minister’s (PM) Laptop Scheme would be relaunched, according to Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed.
Speaking to reporters, he said that the HEC will launch online courses for college students in partnership with Microsoft and numerous other foreign companies.

The degree verification and equivalence certificate systems would also be relocated online, he added.
He also mentioned the HEC’s dwindling financing and stated that universities will now be allocated monies depending on their performance because the number of educational institutions in the country has expanded dramatically.
He also advised the federal and provincial governments to hold off on building any new public universities until the economy of the nation had stabilized.
